Bakare is a self-motivated chartered accountant, accomplished finance professional, and strategic management expert with more than a decade of progressive experience in financial planning, corporate strategy, and organisational leadership. He is an Associate Member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), bringing a dual grounding in financial reporting discipline and tax expertise to every aspect of his practice.

Abdulfatai joined Tope Adebayo LP, a trans-generational full-service law firm headquartered at Phoenix House, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, in 2011, where he currently serves as Director of Finance. In this role, he holds overall responsibility for the firm’s financial health, overseeing financial planning and budgeting, management reporting, and the internal controls that safeguard the firm’s assets and reputation. He leads the firm’s tax compliance function, ensuring accurate and timely statutory filings across all applicable regulatory regimes, and manages the risk framework underpinning the firm’s institutional governance. Working closely with the Partnership, he translates financial data into strategic insight, supporting decisions on resource allocation, cost management, and long-term financial sustainability.

Beyond the firm, Abdulfatai serves as Finance Controller and Owner’s Representative for its hospitality subsidiary, The Colossus International Hotels Limited, a four-star hotel located at Sheraton-Opebi Link Bridge, Ikeja, Lagos. In this capacity, he is responsible for the hotel’s financial operations, including revenue and cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting, while also acting on behalf of ownership in strategic and operational matters affecting the property. This role extends his remit beyond conventional corporate finance into active oversight of a distinct commercial enterprise, requiring him to balance the financial discipline of professional services with the operational realities of hospitality management.

Abdulfatai’s dual portfolio, spanning a full-service law firm and a four-star hospitality property, reflects a versatility uncommon among finance professionals, positioning him as a trusted financial steward across two markedly different business environments under a shared ownership structure. He maintains a growing specialisation in environmental accounting and sustainable finance, an area of increasing relevance to both the professional services and hospitality sectors as regulatory and stakeholder expectations around sustainability continue to evolve.

Abdulfatai is a registered professional with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC/2025/PRO/ICAN/001/770570). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) and a National Diploma in Accountancy from Ondo State Polytechnic, Owo (now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic), and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Rome Business School. While at the University of Ado-Ekiti, he served as President of the Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union, an early demonstration of the leadership and organisational acumen that continues to define his professional approach today.
